Pre-school Staff and Qualifications

Shrewton Pre-school Wiltshire Jane

Jane has been involved with the pre-school since 1997. Firstly as a parent, she joined the committee and ended up being Pre-school chairperson for several years. After giving that up and applying for a position as a member of staff, she started to train with us as a Pre-school Practitioner.

She is married with two children who both attended Shrewton Pre-school.

She has completed her N.V.Q. 2 & 3 qualifications in Childcare, Learning and Development and completed the Foundation Degree in Early Childhood Studies.

Jane took on the role as Manager in September 2011.
Janet at Shrewton Pre-school Janet

has been involved with Pre-school since her children attended in 1997.

Janet was on the Pre-school committee for several years and is now a paid member of staff who deals with administration and is our financial manager.
Fran at Shrewton Pre-school Fran

started out as a relief practitioner in September 2015 and joined us as a permanent member of staff in November 2016.

With effect from April 2020 Fran has taken on the role as Deputy Manager.

Fran has had a long career in education and has a Masters Degree in education.
Sapphire at Shrewton Pre-school Sapphire

joined us as a student in 2015 and became a member of staff in February 2017 she has completed level 3 Health and Social Care.

From April 2020 Sapphire has taken on the roles of SENCo and Designated Deputy Safeguarding Lead.

Sapphire has now completed her level 3 Early Years Educator.
Staff at Shrewton Pre-school Amy

Amy used to attend Shrewton Pre-school as a little girl and has recently moved back to the village.

Amy joined us in September 2020 as a member of staff along with her little boy Jake. She is a practitioner and has completed her level 3 Early Years Educator.

We regularly have students working with us, some from schools on work experience and some from college who are completing their childcare and health and social care courses.

All students have police checks where necessary and are monitored by the Manager and Deputy at all times.

All staff members have enhanced Police Checks before they are allowed to have any connection with the children directly.

The ratio of adults to children in our setting is a minimum of 1 to 6.

All Staff members are Paediatric First Aid trained, have attended Safe Guarding Children courses and completed Level 2 Food Safety for Child carers.
